Courier Driver Jobs Across the UK

Courier work is the entry point into self-employed driving for many owner-drivers, and it remains one of the most flexible ways to run a small logistics business. Thea Nexus places couriers on same-day, next-day, multi-drop and dedicated parcel contracts across the UK.

Same-day courier work suits owner drivers running small vans, car-derived vans or LWB Sprinters who value flexibility and higher per-mile rates. Next-day and multi-drop parcel work suits drivers looking for consistent daily routes with predictable income and set start times. Thea Nexus covers both models.

Because parcel volumes vary by season, courier demand rises sharply from October through to January. Drivers registered with Thea Nexus are contacted first when a suitable route becomes available in their postcode, without needing to re-apply for each contract.

Vehicles typically used on courier contracts include small vans, LWB Sprinter and Transit-sized 3.5t vans and — for larger parcels or B2B work — Luton box vans with tail lifts. Owner drivers can operate on either a single-vehicle or multi-vehicle basis; sub-contract arrangements are supported where the client allows.

To work on courier contracts through Thea Nexus you'll need a UK driving licence, hire-and-reward insurance, goods-in-transit cover, a UTR self-employed number and a basic DBS for most parcel networks. A smartphone capable of running the client's tracking or scanning app is required on nearly every route.

Registration takes about 10 minutes. Once complete, you'll be visible to our courier and parcel clients across the UK and can filter opportunities by postcode, vehicle and work profile during onboarding.
