The UK logistics market runs through a small number of very large freight corridors — the M1/M6 spine, the A14 east-west corridor, the M25 and the M62 — and a dense cluster of national distribution centres around DIRFT, Magna Park, East Midlands Gateway, Milton Keynes and the North West. Thea Nexus places drivers on work across all of these corridors and clusters.
Work categories available through our network include multi-drop parcel, next-day and same-day courier, pallet network delivery, dedicated retail store replenishment, overnight trunking, middle-mile transfers and specialist logistics such as medical, legal and temperature-controlled courier.
Because contracts move with the season, our peak demand from October to January is consistently the highest of the year. Drivers already registered with Thea Nexus are approached first when a suitable route becomes available in their area, without needing to re-apply for each contract.
To work on logistics contracts through Thea Nexus you'll need a UK driving licence for the vehicle you operate, hire-and-reward insurance, goods-in-transit cover, a UTR self-employed number and, for parcel and 3PL work, a basic DBS. Onboarding support is available for drivers new to self-employment.
